I was absolutely thrilled when I received the call for newborn photos from Sara. A long time client of mine referred her to me. Therefore, I knew how wonderful it would be to work with her and her family.

Ever more exciting, she decided to do a baby plan and I simply cannot wait! I will be photographing her adorable baby boy for his 6 months and 1st birthday too. I think most of you know how much I love doing cake smashes.

By the time baby boy made his arrival, we had already planned out a color scheme for his session.

We wanted to keep it to neutral tones to match their decor, with a touch of blue to match his room. I went through my prop collection to gather the right colors and packed the truck full for the session.

Sara and Brad did well to keep baby awake and hungry before I arrived. So when I got there, I set up while Sara fed baby. It was the first time using my new poser set up, and I was so happy with the outcome.

When baby was well fed, it took some time to calm him down.

But I took my time, worked my magic, and settled him into a deep sleep. He looked adorable in the outfits Sara chose for him. And the colors all worked great together.

We started him out on the blanket, and then moved to the basket (my favorite). We took him up to his nursery once we were done photographing him by himself. There we did family photos in the glider, and a few special photos for Brad. They may or may not have involved a Tardis 

We finished the session up with a few family photos in front of their living room wall.

We wanted to make sure we had family photos that matched the decor as well as the individual newborn photos.

I wanted to wait until they sent out their announcements before I showcased their photos myself. But I am so excited to get to release them now! I am looking so forward to seeing them again in a few months for their 6 month update photos.
